Warping the loom.
Finishing the tapestry
You have :
your trestle, a ruler, a permanent marker, a 12/12 cotton thread
Preparing the table trestle.
Writing graduations on the trestle will help you to decide
how much space you should put between each warp thread, and to maintain it regularly.
With your ruler and marker pen, mark a scale on the lower horizontal part of the face of your trestle (A). Work from left to right.
Make the same marks on the top side. This is the side on which you will weave.
A - front of the trestle there are two scale lines
B - back of the trestle there is only one.
Then turn the trestle, and on the lower horizontal part transfer the same graduation.
Be careful to work from right to left to maintain the symmetry of the markings (B) if you draw a bigger line every 5 or 10 cm, you will easily see the markings.
Fixing the tension threads
Have the back of your loom (B) in front of you.
On the graduated part of the loom, attach cotton threads that have to stay in place. For your first work, you will start with a width of 15 cm. You can adjust it as you wish later by attaching more threads.
On the trestle, tie the 12/12 cotton with a simple overhand knot (C). It is best not to tie this knot too tightly, as you will have to adapt its position to the size of your chain. For a small trestle, cut 35 threads 42 cm long and attach them on the bottom part.
At the other end, make a fixed loop (D)

Have the face of your loom (A) in front of you
Prepare 35 threads of 130 cm. Tie one end on the graduated part of your trestle (C).
Pass your thread across the top of the frame, placing it on the same graduation mark.
Slide the other end inside the loop (E). Tighten the thread by pulling (F).
Then make a special knot which will block the tension and can be easily untied, either to tighten, or to undo the chain.
(The chain thread is red in the photo...)
THE KNOT
1. Hold the white loop, pass the end of the thread behind the taut thread forming a red loop (G).
2. Form and slide a second red loop through the first (H).
3. Pull this loop down, your knot is tight, just pull on the strand to untie it (I).

INTERSPACES
With 12/12 cotton, you will need 5 threads for 2 cm.
Be careful! The 5th thread of the second cm is not the 1st of the next cm (J).
You have mounted a chain of about 15 cm wide in the middle part of your loom

ONCE TAPESTRY IS FINISHED
1 - On the back of the trestle, pull on the knots and take down each warp thread. The piece is thus released at the top.
2 - To release the bottom, turn and tilt the trestle, then cut the threads free from it , under the cotton strip woven at the beginning of the work
